‘Blue Horizons’

The Universe Always gives blue color to represent vastness. The sky, which stretches as far as the eye can see, and the ocean, which expands along with it, are blue in their perfection. Perhaps because a color is able to go deep into the complexities of the human mind and bring the mind to the expanse of peace and concentration, this color, along with human expressions, has gained importance in history. In the annals of art, it can be understood that the influence of the blue color was evident in equal measure in Western countries and Eastern countries. When ancient man looked at nature and drew it in caves, he could clearly see the absence of blue in the colors taken from nature and soil. That was the value of a color that was inaccessible to man. From the discovery of the solid substance lapis lazuli, man added blue to the colors he was able to conquer. He has been transferred to various levels of meaning in the history of painting. This became a major reason for changes in religion, culture, and technology.

The use of blue, which was dominant in the West during the medieval and Renaissance periods, was valued in the history of far eastern countries and in the history of Indian art.
The color blue has been of paramount importance to painters since ancient times. From Italian Renaissance painter Giotto to Impressionist painters Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Post-Impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh, blue has been a constant source of inspiration. Artists such as Pablo Picasso and Yves Klein, who emerged in the 20th century, pushed the boundaries of blue even further. Picasso's "Blue Period" produced somber and melancholic works like "La Vie" , while monochromatic blue paintings like Klein's "International Klein Blue“ redefined the role of color in modern art. Throughout history, countless artists, including Henri Matisse, have explored the possibilities of blue. From the ethereal to the sentimental, this captivating color has played a vital role in shaping the artistic narrative, and its influence continues to be felt in contemporary art today.

Even when the Western world perceived the color blue in a different light, the story was distinct for Indian culture . In the Indus Valley Civilization, dating back 5000 years, the culture was profoundly influenced by the color Indigo, and it is evident that blue was extensively used in textiles under its influence. The word indigo, a Greek term meaning 'from India', holds significant historical importance. This color, often described as "blue gold," garnered worldwide attention. Its rarity and vibrant hue made it a prized possession, driving trade and cultural exchange. Indigo's impact can be seen in various art forms, from textiles and paintings to sculptures and installations. Its rich history and cultural significance continue to inspire artists, designers, and art enthusiasts alike.

Today, we live in a world where art is practiced by studying the world and its history from the possibilities of contemporary art. Our artists have been selected from among those who create works by incorporating all types of media, such as artworks using innovative technologies and new forms of art like Multi disciplinary practice's , land art, conceptual art, and so on. The purpose of this exhibition is to investigate the influence of the blue color in contemporary artworks, its possibilities, and the changes it can bring to human minds and thoughts, taking into account its importance from a historical sense of a color .

In this time, when news is filled with social , Geographical, Economical and Mental conditions due to the stress of the modern world, the blue color needs to fill the human mind with its coolness. Through their works, a group of artists who gaze out at the busy modern world from the serene shores of a blue water pool present to the viewers a unique perspective on the art world, set against the rich background of history.
